For bored games, the result is usually limited to a certain number of tokens, when one person wins one another loses. That is a zero sum game. In real life zero sum is the exception not the rule. When the prosperity of one member of a group improves, they will usually raise the prosperity of the whole group. There is an ever increasing abundance of foods, information, minerals, nearly everything people need. Thus, application of the Zero Sum concept to real life or the idea that someone must suffer for another to prosper is generally silly. Just visit a castle from medieval times and it is clear that your quality of living is better than that of most Kings from centuries past.
