Listening sometimes entails a bit of Boredom - hard to conceal - one trick is to find something interesting in whatever the person is saying or change topic or location if they have other interests. If not, let them keep going and appreciate it. Amazingly they'll find you to be a brilliant conversationalist for just your ability to find their topic interesting with even the slightest feedback if they ask. Loose a little time and gain a good comrade.
